Brett Favre is considering coming out of retirement, according to an ESPN report. ESPN's Chris Mortensen said Wednesday that a Packers source told him the 38-year-old Favre told coach Mike McCarthy in the past two weeks that he has the itch to play.

Among the most encouraging Dolphins stories has been the accelerated recovery of Ronnie Brown, who is optimistic he will be 100 percent by the start of the season. But other standout running backs who also tore their anterior cruciate knee ligament have been reaching out to Brown with cautionary advice.

Read that carefully... Our own Greg Kellogg is one of many who don't think Brown will be available at least the first 4 games. Kevin Jones is in this same boat, recent reports of how good he looked only 4 months removed from ACL surgery. They both may feel good running and cutting without pads and getting hit, but that doesn't make them ready.
